Facebook Purchased WhatsApp by the Ever Biggest Deal of $19 Billion
Facebook just bought the most popular Smartphone app of the world, WhatsApp by $19 billion. This is the largest deal of Facebook to purchase WhatsApp. People send and receive text messages, enjoy photo sharing technology, video sharing system, and even voice and video chat service by this app.
Facebook had paid $4 billion dollars by cash, $12 billion in stock and the rest $3 billion dollars will be restricted stock for the technicians who used to work for the development and maintenance of the app. This deal for the employees will be vested for 4 years after the deal is closed.
The transactions are nearly about eleven percent of the entire market value of Facebook. The biggest deal with Motorola Mobility was only in $12.5 billion and the second biggest deal was Microsoft’s purchasing of Skype in 8.5 billion dollars. At the mean time, Apple has only done the deal less that $1 billion over.
This is the biggest deal of Facebook by far. This is also bigger deal than Google, Microsoft’s Bing, Apple ever has done. Anthony Michael Sabino, a St. John’s University business professor had shown anguish that it is to raise worries about this said that there is a lot of skepticism about the deal. He also guessed that people would discuss more about this and say what a great deal they bet for WhatsApp!
Whatever the value of the app now, it is the largest used app in the entire world. More than 450 million Smartphone users use the app in their Smart phones. Among them this is the part and parcel of 70% people for their daily messaging, chatting, photo and video sharing or video calling purposes. Facebook’s founder and CEO, Mark Zuckerberg is confident enough that the app will reach a billion users and will increase day by day. This will not be limited to the teenagers. Rather, it is most essential app for office colleagues, bosses and all at their workplace and outside.
